We wanted to take the time to say thank you to everyone who watched us on The Lakes programme with Simon Reeve on BBC2 earlier this year.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the people of this world. And I do mean world as we have received gifts from all over, not just the UK. Thank you to each and every one of you.
You have sent us sanitary products, clothes, flee bags, toiletries, beautiful letters about your lives and in support of women, children, young people and families who come here.
When people receive the gifts, you have given with such love and kindness, people know there are others in the world who care about them and that makes the gifts mean so much more as a consequence.
And the donations of money have been amazing, over £30,000. Never in our wildest dreams did we think that was a possibility. It has meant we have been able to employ another member of staff and extend the contract of a second. One of these women is herself a survivor of domestic abuse. She will never look back and she will take the hands of many other women as they make the decisions they want to make about their own lives in their own time.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity, your kindness, your compassion, your care and your love. Together we can change the world and every one of you is part of that change for good.
Love, Rebecca x
