Rebecca Robson- Senior Officer

Welcome to Women’s Community Matters. My name is Rebecca and I am the Senior Officer here at the Women’s Centre in the Nan Tait Centre in Barrow. I have been lucky enough to be involved with the organisation since the beginning and I feel very privileged to have a job I love so much. Much of my role now involves the ‘behind the scenes’ work, ensuring the organisation runs smoothly, applying for funding and developing new areas of work although I still very much enjoy the daily contact with the women who visit the Centre to take part in the activities and courses on offer.

I was born in Barrow, went to school in Barrow and I live in Barrow. I love the area we find ourselves in and would choose it over anywhere else in the world. We have challenges the same as everywhere…but together I believe we can overcome them. I have been working with a number of colleagues across the town (particularly Love Barrow Families and The Birchall Trust) to discuss the way we each deliver our services and why the people we work with tell us they like us and trust us. We believe that it is because we deliver our services with care, kindness, compassion and LOVE. If we do this every day we come to work then I believe the world will be a better place.

In a nutshell…my job is to ensure that every woman who visits our Centre experiences our services with Love, Care, Compassion and Kindness. Every Woman Matters…and that includes you…I hope we see you soon. Love, Rebecca xx
