Volunteer Opportunities

Homes With Love

Creating homes for our community and sustainability for our organisation.

Our aim is to grow a social enterprise that provides quality housing to local residents with all profits being made available to further the charity aims and purpose and to provide long term sustainability. We will be a responsible landlord working to all the best practice standards and in line with all of our work, we will deliver the service with love, with care, with compassion, and with kindness. We need to raise £35,000 to buy our first house, so please support us to get there!

As a volunteer you could help us fundraise for this amazing project! We have created a template for a brick to be made out of paper or card. People can decorate these however they would like, place some money in them, and return them to the Centre for us to display. The money collected will go towards this project. The template is linked here, so please pass them on to friends and family to help us reach our goal!

Food Service Assistant

We serve free jacket potatoes to clients, staff, volunteers and members of our community in With Love We Can on Mondays after Drop-In. The volunteers at this time will be needed to set up the tea and coffee stations, set up tables for food service, clean-up after people have eaten, wipe tables, help people with their orders and make sure everyone has eaten, as well as other relevant tasks and responsibilities. This role will last from around 11.00am- 1.30pm for setup and clean-up.

Welcomer on Reception

This role will involve standing on our Reception welcoming people into the Centre. The welcomer will be responsible for directing people to where their group/ course is within the Centre, signing people in via our tablets on the front desk, making cups of tea/ coffee for visitors, and checking all our leaflets and posters are up to date.

Centre Support

This role will involve the day-to-day running and upkeep of the Centre. We complete ‘Lunchtime checks’ midday every day on the drinks stations located throughout the building, to make sure they are fully stocked, flasks are full of hot water, there are enough mugs and spoons etc. A Centre Support volunteer will also be responsible for the weekly deep clean of these drinks stations, as well as clearing up after groups/ courses and doing the Centre washing. The Centre has its own washing of tea towels etc. and we also wash clothing donations that might need a refresh before being offered to clients.

Fundraiser

A volunteer with this role would work in a team with other likeminded volunteers to fundraise money for the Centre. This would involve making crafts to sell, organising raffles and tombolas, looking after a stand of items to sell on our Reception, as well as selling items via our Vinted and World of Books accounts. This role is subject to availability and requires a certain level of commitment on your part. It can be discussed with the Volunteer Co-ordinator to see if this is the best fit for you.
