Thinking cold weather is good here at WCM!

Good morning all!

After a very sunny end to last week it was a little disappointing to be faced with rain and wind!  I was thinking the summer was here! However…I’m sat in my office this morning and starting to think that maybe the colder weather isn’t such a bad thing!  And why is that?  Well…it is because I can smell some very lovely food cooking in the other room!  Nicola (one of our very excellent volunteer) has started her next round of Cooking Together this morning.

Over the next 8 weeks she will be cooking a range of recipies in a slow cooker. There is a Blue Peter style ‘here’s one I made earlier’ and also a demonstration for the women to watch.  There is lots of chat and questioning about how they can adapt ingredients and make a dish that all of the family can enjoy. By the time I got off the phone to investigate, all that was left was pots and the hoover!  Maybe next week I will be quick enough to have a taste! If you fancy getting some slow cooker recipies and watching a demonstration of how to put it together (before going home and having a try!) then we would love you to join us next Wednesday morning from 10am-12noon when I hope I will be quick enough to get a photo!

Victim Support are in the Centre now delivering a session as part of the Being, Feeling, Keeping Safe Programme (booking essential).  It sounds really interesting!  If you are interested in finding out more about any of our courses or activities then please get in touch using the contact form on this website or by giving us a ring on 01229 311102.

Knit & Natter is clicking away in our Doreen Lawrence room this afternoon and there are plenty of scarves and throws being produced.  If you would like to join in with the knitters and natterers then why not join us on a Wednesday afternoon from 1-3pm.

And the sun has come out!

Good afternoon and good bye for now.

Love, Rebecca x
